hey, i know its been awhile but i've got a good excuse. i've been sick. no need to fear for me because it is just a cold and i shall live......for now. any ways this last Sunday i went to a vintage car show!! there is no other way id rather spend a Sunday afternoon than looking at old cars. it is my profession. i work in an antique store in Lincoln NE called vintage village antique mall. i couldn't ask for a better job! back to the car show, it ended at 4 so i was definitely shooting in the mid day sun. not to mention how darn reflective those car were. well i guess it was the shine and show car show. i don't usually shoot things like cars so this was pretty new but whether or not i got any good shots i really had alot of fun looking at the cars and thats what photography is about, having fun!

Today i packed up my camera back pack with all the best goodies. this would include the seagull camera i'm borrowing this weekend. oh and also my best photo helper, my dog Bones. we all headed out to the country in hope of finding something good to shoot. despite my what the better half of myself was saying, i went all the way out to my church building. my church building is a good thirty away from my house and it was all ready 6. not very many good hours left in the day to take pictures. never the less, it went very well! it was hot and humid and a great day for photos. i brought my digital camera too. i couldn't get enough shoots of the seagull! only the film will turely tell how that day of photographs went. and on the plus side, when i stopped at pets smart to get my assistant a treat, the guy working there loved my dog and he was quite a sight for warn out eyes. though i cant say the same could be said for him. i was a sweaty mess from shooting in the afternoon sun and wearing a size too big ac dc t-shirt but oh well, ill leave that in the arm of another day.
Hey, y'all
ok, so in my advance photography class i'm a little ahead and cant go on to the next assignment till the weekend. so instead i was helping my photography teacher clean out the old storage closet, which was full of stuff from the photography teacher before her. Stuff like broken developing equipment he kept for parts and the manuals to the 50 identical cameras the beginning photography students use. it wasn't all that interesting, till i found a box in the back of the closet that said show and tell. my teacher, Mrs. Burnmen, said it had old cameras in it that the past teacher had used to show the kids shutter speed, aperture, stuff like that. so i drug the box out of the closet to look though it. she was right, most of the cameras weren't in that good of condition but in the bottom i found the most beautiful twin lens seagull i had ever had the privilege to lay hands on!! so Mrs. Brunmensaid i could borrow it to shoot with!! tomarrow is going to be a fun friday! This is the first blog post in meadow lark photo. i'm really excited to begin posting on this blog! ill be doing double exposure with a Holga soon. got any suggestions? let me know! also last weekend i went to the lake and got some great sun raise shoots. check 'em out! |
